Australian Olivia Rogowska talks about her second round win over Korean Su Jeong Jang. The quarterfinal later went easier and the second seeded player is already in the semifinal where she meets her compatriot Bojana Bobusic.
Q: Olivia, it was a tough match out there, you struggle at the start but then you got out in three sets.
Olivia Rogowska: Yeah, I had a really slow start. I don't think I was really prepared. She played amazing tennis. She came out firing, I knew she was a really tough junior so yeah credit to her, she played some top tennis and I really had to battle and I'm really happy with how I fought today.
Q: You were looking over your coach a little bit, Chris Johnson, and you had a chat with him before. Anything that you chatted about in particular?
Olivia Rogowska: Yeah, well he said he watched two of her matches today but she played completely different today and we were very not prepared for her game strat today. So uhm you know, it took a lot of figuring out on court. I guess I didn't play very smart in the first set, but uhm you know brought my game together and played tough in the second and the third.
Q: You probably don't come down to Tasmania very often, yes? How do you feel coming down here, especially to Burnie International?
Olivia Rogowska: I actually come to Tassie a lot. I played a lot in Hobart and this is my third year in Burnie, so today's a beautiful day which is great cos it's always windy here and tough conditions but yeah I like Tassie. We're close to the beach so always trying to get down there.
Q: And you're the 2nd seed, so would you be disappointed not taking this one out and winning it all the way?
Olivia Rogowska: Yeah definitely I mean I try not to think about that too much because it puts a lot of pressure of expectations and it's really tough to play when you're always expected to win so just trying to focus on each match I play and been working on a lot of things and it's important for me to get these wins and yeah, it's a good start. I'm at the quarterfinal already.
Q: And what do you do for the rest of the day?
Olivia Rogowska: The rest of the day, just gonna be professional. Get some food into me, might watch a DVD. Beautiful day today so might do some recovery on the beach.
Q: Enjoy!
Olivia Rogowska: Thank you.
